5 Charged With Murder In Home Invasion Slaying

NORTH EAST, Md. (AP) -- Five people have been charged with second-degree murder and other offenses in the slaying of a North East man during a home invasion, the Cecil County Sheriff's Office said Wednesday.

Deputies said one of the suspects was shot by Kenneth Lee Curry before Curry was fatally shot by a second suspect.

The home invasion happened about 12:30 a.m. Tuesday in Curry's apartment. Authorities said the suspects believed they would find drugs and money in the apartment.

Deputies say Curry, 19 and three other people were there when several masked people entered; two showed handguns.

Police say Curry got a gun away from one suspect and shot him. Authorities say a second suspect shot Curry.

Deputies have a warrant for Justin Leander Jones, 25, of Aberdeen, charging him with second-degree murder. He is in critical condition in a Delaware hospital.

The other four were arrested at different locations in Cecil County. They are: Tabitha C. Nelson, 23, of Elkton; William L. Dodson, 21, of Rosedale; Angela L. Williams, 22, of Conowingo; and Devon T. Ellwood, 18, of Elkton.

All are being held without bond.
