Archbishop Of Baltimore To Bless Animals Awaiting Adoption
BALTIMORE (AP) -- The Archbishop of Baltimore will be spending part of his day blessing animals awaiting adoption.
The Archdiocese says that on Friday, Archbishop William E. Lori will spend part of his day blessing dogs and cats at the Maryland SPCA in Baltimore.
Friday is the day Catholics celebrate the Feast of St. Francis, who is considered the patron saint of animals.
Lori was appointed Archbishop of Baltimore in 2012 after previously being the bishop of Bridgeport, Conn.
The diocese says he has a golden retriever named "Noble."
