5 Orange Line Stations To Close For Weekend Work

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Metro says free shuttle buses will replace trains on the orange line this weekend between Stadium-Armory and New Carrollton.

Metro says that beginning Friday at 10 p.m. and continuing through closing on Sunday, five stations will be closed. They are: New Carrollton, Landover, Cheverly, Deanwood and Minnesota Ave. Metro says free express and local buses will get passengers between the closed stations.

In addition, on the red line, passengers can expect to wait longer for some trains. Trains between Shady Grove and Glenmont will run every 16 minutes during the day. Between Grosvenor and Silver Spring, trains will run every eight minutes from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Metro says there will be no changes in service on the blue, yellow and green lines.
