Dr. Ben Carson To Be Fox News Contributor

BALTIMORE (AP) -- Retired Johns Hopkins surgeon Ben Carson has been hired to be a contributor at Fox News.

Roger Ailes, the chairman and CEO of the network, made the announcement on Wednesday in a news release on the network's website.

Carson, who retired from Johns Hopkins in June, will provide analysis and commentary across Fox News Channel's daytime and primetime programming. The network says Carson will make his debut in the new role on "The Kelly File" Wednesday night.

Carson served as the director of pediatric surgery at the Johns Hopkins Children's Center for 39 years.
