Steve Davis: What Is A Success For Terps?

There is no silver lining in a 63-0 loss. It is tied for the worst loss ever by a ranked team since they started doing the rankings in 1936. You can't spin it.

I don't want to hear CJ Brown got hurt; they were getting hammered with him in the game. I don't want to hear Florida State ran up the score. What are they supposed to do? Tell their backups not to try. I don't want to hear Florida State is just better. We're in the same conference, with the same number of scholarships.

This was epically bad. This is the kind of loss that 1-AA teams, the Bowl Subdivision teams Like Savannah State and Florida A & M get paid $900,000 to lose. Where is our check?

That said, the Terps only have 2 games left out of their 7 where we say they are clearly inferior, Clemson and Va Tech. So if the Terps lose those, and one more. They are still 8-4 and going to a bowl. That would be a successful season, right? Pretty good bowl game.

But, it is hard to say anything is a success when you were a punch line and had the worst loss ever by a ranked team.
