Annual SWAT Competition To Be Held In Montgomery County

ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) -- SWAT teams from around the region are gathering in Montgomery County for an annual competition.

The National Capital Region SWAT Association is holding its seventh annual tactical competition on Friday. The event will take place on the police department's outdoor firearms range in Poolesville. Police Chief Thomas Manger will make opening remarks.

The competition will raise money for a memorial fund for Jason Schneider, a Baltimore County SWAT officer killed while serving a search warrant in August.

The SWAT Association is composed of more than 30 federal, state and local agencies in the region.
