Bargains Galore At The Annual House Of Ruth Benefit

OWINGS MILLS, Md. (WJZ) -- Designer shoes, handbags and jewelry are all part of a huge sale in Owings Mills this weekend.

Ron Matz reports the annual benefit for the House of Ruth is already drawing big crowds.

This buzz is loud, and the shoppers love it. The prices are just right at the One Great Thing Sale at Ruth's Closet, a benefit for the House of Ruth.

"They're going to find an incredible assortment of beautiful clothing from high-end designer to department store brands," said Terri Wurmser of the House of Ruth. "Great prices and all to serve women and their kids get and stay safe by supporting the House of Ruth Maryland."

Some of the designers are Chanel, Manolo Blahnik, Judith Leiber and so much more.

"We have some ensembles," said Cathy Fries-Sierra, volunteer with the House of Ruth Maryland. "Basically for less than $200, you can buy a four-piece outfit. You have Hobbs shoes, a great pair of pants, a jacket, and a bejio bag. It's no guilt shopping. You come in here and you're helping others in addition to adding something wonderful to your wardrobe."

If you're a shoe lover, this is the place to be this weekend.

"We have more than 250 pairs of shoes and boots," Wurmser said. "Everything from size 6 to 10 and a half. We have designer shoes from Gucci and Chanel, even a pair of Manolo Blahnik in Ravens purple."

It is a designer sale, designed to help others.

"Last year we served more than 9,000 victims, so the proceeds from Ruth's Closet all go to support those programs and services," Wurmser said.

The One Great Thing Sale benefitting the House of Ruth continues through Sunday, Oct. 13 at Ruth's Closet in the Valley Village Shopping Center in Owings Mills.
