SMITHSBURG, Md. (AP) — Smithsburg police are offering a $1,000 reward for information about a speed camera that was set on fire.

The department and OptoTraffic Inc. are offering the reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of whoever is responsible for the Oct. 5 incident.

A tire on the portable speed camera that was set up in front of the town’s school complex was set ablaze. Damage was estimated at $100.

Officers tell The Herald-Mail of Hagerstown that the fire did not affect the operation of the camera.
