Woman Convicted Of Sex Trafficking 15-Year-Old Girl

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (AP) -- A Fairfax woman has been convicted of sex trafficking of a child after she recruited a 15-year-old girl into prostitution.

Stephanie Chapman, 28, was convicted Thursday in federal court in Alexandria. She faces a mandatory minimum of 10 years in prison at sentencing Jan. 24.

According to evidence presented at trial, Chapman and her boyfriend met the girl and recruited her to be a prostitute. Prosecutors say Chapman and her boyfriend drove the girl to customers in Virginia, Maryland and Washington.

The boyfriend, Ronnie Holmes, has pleaded guilty to sex trafficking of a child.
