GLEN BURNIE, Md. (WJZ)—Anne Arundel County Police say an elderly couple were victims of a home invasion in Glen Burnie.

It happened just before 5:30 a.m. Friday in the 500-block of McPherson Road.

An 87-year-old male victim and his 73-year-old girlfriend told police three masked suspects forced their way into the home and assaulted them.

The suspects then ransacked the home, took money and property from the residence and fled in an unknown direction.

The male victim went across the street and contacted a neighbor, who called police.

The couple was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police do not believe this was a random act.

The investigation is ongoing.
