1 Killed, 2 Hurt In Charles County Pickup Crash
LA PLATA, Md. (AP) -- The Charles County Sheriff's Office says the driver was killed and his two passengers were hurt when a pickup truck hit a tree in La Plata.
It happened about 7:30 p.m. Friday on Turkey Hill Road. Deputies say a truck driven by Gabriel William Maxwell of Waldorf was traveling south when Maxwell lost control of the vehicle near a sharp curve and hit a tree.
Maxwell, 22, was pronounced dead at the scene. Two teenage passengers were taken to hospitals. Deputies say one was admitted in critical condition.
The accident is under investigation.
