4 Of Metro's 5 Lines Will Not Have Weekend Work

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Metro riders will get a break from most work this weekend with four of the system's five lines operating with regular weekend service.

Metro says riders can expect normal service on the red, yellow, blue and green lines.

Metro says that on the orange line, travelers riding on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. will find that every other train will run between Vienna and Cheverly only. Riders traveling to or from the Landover or New Carrollton stations should add about 12 minutes of travel time. At all other times on Saturday trains will run on a regular schedule.

On Sunday, orange line trains will operate every 16 minutes between Vienna and New Carrollton. Normal Sunday service is every 15 minutes.
