Man Charged In 2012 Fatal Hit-And-Run

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WJZ) -- A Pasadena man has been charged in connection with a fatal hit-and-run.

Police say John Junior Stewart, 52, was killed in a hit-and-run accident last November on Mountain Road near Jumpers Hole Road.

Witnesses told police the driver of a dark-colored van or sport utility vehicle struck Stewart, and slowed down before coming to a stop.  Police say the driver failed to render aid and continued driving east on Mountain Road.

About a week later, Donovan Scott Bailey, 45, of Pasadena, notified the Anne Arundel County Police Department about the accident.  He was interviewed and then released. His vehicle, a 2009 Hyundai SUV, was seized.

The Anne Arundel County State's Attorney's Office reviewed the case and has charged Bailey with failure to immediately return and remain at the scene of an accident involving a death.

A court summons was issued on Saturday.
