Man Killed, 3 Hurt In 3-Vehicle Crash

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- Maryland State Police say a man was killed and three people were hurt in a three-vehicle crash in Hagerstown.

Troopers say about 2 p.m. Wednesday, 71-year-old Robert William Semler of Boonsboro was stopped on Route 40 in Hagerstown, waiting to make a left turn. Police say a car driven by 22-year-old Korey Scott McCarthy of Keedysville ran into the back of Semler's truck.

Troopers say the impact knocked the truck on its side and into oncoming traffic. It was hit by a truck driven by 72-year-old Eldon Bowman Keller of Boonsboro.

Robert Semler was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in his truck, 65-year-old Deborah Semler of Boonsboro, was flown to Shock Trauma in Baltimore. McCarthy and Keller were taken to a local hospital.

The accident is under investigation.
