Md. Scrap Yard Worker Dies After Being Hit By Truck

CAPITOL HEIGHTS, Md. (AP) -- Prince George's County police say a man working at a scrap metal yard has died after a dump truck backed into him.

Police spokesman Officer Harry Bond says officers were called to the recycling facility on Kenilworth Avenue in Capitol Heights on Thursday morning. He says the incident appears to be an accident and foul play is not suspected.

Bond says the man who was driving the truck didn't see his co-worker as he backed up. The man who was hit was taken to a hospital, where he later died.

Bond says police have not released the victim's name pending notification of his family.
