Rich Eisen is the host for the NFL Network, and is involved in all NFL Network game broadcasts.
Rich joined Bob & Glenn to talk about many NFL topics.
Bob: What do you think is in store for Greg Schiano, will he survive the season?
Rich: I would say probably not but what do I know? Hiring an Interim head coach comes if the fans are in such an uproar that the organization realizes they need to please their paying customers. I don’t know if that is going to help anything anyway. Unfortunately, their schedule doesn’t get any easier so its a bad situation.
Glenn: Cam Newton came alive last night, How did he look and do the Panthers have a shot in the NFC?
Rich: Cam looked good and I’d say yeah their in the mix of everything tied with the lions and the bears, just behind the 49’ers and the packers. I don’t know if they have the horses to beat the Saints in their division but I think their in the thick of things in the wild card race.
Bob: What do you make of the Ravens after 7 games?
Rich: You have to wonder who they are, and what their identity is. For a long time it was Ray and Ed and now its Joe Flacco’s team and they need to figure some things out. They have a lot of pieces and are still a good team but they have their share of issues, their offense seems like Cam Cameron is back on the sidelines and they are just so inconsistent. If they can find a way to fix some of the problems and show some consistency, they will be back in the hunt. I’m not ready to hit the panic button just yet.
Glenn: Isn’t it great for football that the Jets and Rex Ryan are proving all the haters wrong this year?
Rich: Well I think some people may think otherwise but for me its good, a quote machine like that helps me out. Rex, whether you like him or not, can flat out coach. The Mark Sanchez was a botched call, but that aside Rex can coach, especially defense and the jets have a chance to be in the hunt at the seasons end.
