Police Identify Body Found In Metro Station

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Metropolitan police have identified a man whose body was found behind a platform wall in the Judiciary Square Metro station.

Officers said Friday Okiemute Whiteru, 35, of southeast D.C. apparently fell off a wall between the platform and the side of the station, landing on the platform level. It was not known how long Whiteru's body had been there before it was found Wednesday afternoon.

The Washington Post reports that police say Whiteru's death from blunt force trauma has been ruled an accident.
