7th Correctional Officer Pleads Guilty In Plot
BALTIMORE (AP) -- A corrections officer at the Baltimore City Detention Center has pleaded guilty to a racketeering conspiracy for smuggling drugs into the facility.
Kimberly Dennis, 26, of Baltimore entered the plea Tuesday in federal court in Baltimore. She faces a maximum of 20 years in prison at sentencing in January. Her lawyer did not immediately return a message left seeking comment.
According to her plea, Dennis, who worked at the detention center for seven years, smuggled marijuana, tobacco and prescription pills into the facility.
Prosecutors say inmates who were members of the Black Guerrilla Family gang would sell the contraband to other inmates.
Six other corrections officials have pleaded guilty in the conspiracy.
