Md. Skateboarder Critical After Being Hit By Police Car

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) — A spokeswoman at Shock Trauma in Baltimore says a skateboarder is in critical condition after he collided with a Frederick County sheriff’s patrol car.

The sheriff’s office says the car driven by Cpl. Corey Borns collided with Andrew Kotzbauer, 20, at about 8:15 p.m. Tuesday on Spring Ridge Parkway east of Frederick.

The agency says Borns was driving north and Kotzbauer was riding south when the deputy began turning left onto Knollwood Drive. The sheriff’s office says Kotzbauer collided with the cruiser in the intersection.
