1057topper Terry Ford: Orioles Offseason Pitching Plans

Now that the baseball season is over it’s time to focus on the off-season.

Lots of Orioles fans are firing up the old hot stove already, talking about making a run at trying to trade for soon-to-be Cy Young Award winner Max Scherzer of Detroit or signing free agent hurler Matt Garza. I think you have a better chance of seeing Sidney Ponson start Opening Day than you do seeing the O’s drop big  loot  or trade away prized prospects for starting pitching.

I believe the Birds will have new pitching coach Dave Wallace work with young pitchers to get them take the next step and then the Orioles will probably wait til the big money pitchers get signed and then they’ll dumpster dive for pitching.

Sometimes that works, ask the Pirates…that’s how they fell into Francisco Liriano. Let’s talk about it on the Terry Ford Show podcast…
