3 Firefighters Injured Fighting Forestville Blaze

FORESTVILLE, Md. (AP) -- Prince George's County fire officials say three firefighters were injured while battling a house fire in Forestville.

The fire broke out around 7:45 a.m. Saturday and took two hours to bring under control.

Fire department spokesman Mark Brady says the injured firefighters were taken to the burn unit at MedStar Washington Hospital Center with injuries to their arms, wrists and ears. Brady says two of the firefighters were treated and released, while the third remained hospitalized with possible burns to his airway.

Three occupants of the home got out safely before firefighters arrived. One of them is 88 years old and was taken to a hospital for observation.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
