Man Accused Of Burglary, Assault In Leonardtown

LEONARDTOWN, Md. (AP) -- The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office says a man accused of breaking into a Leonardtown home and assaulting the resident has been arrested.

Deputies say Matthew S. Hurry, 27, of Mechanicsville was arrested Nov. 1 in Nelsonville, Ohio. Local authorities say Hurry waived extradition and was returned to Maryland last week.

Officials say on March 19, someone forced open the front door of a home, assaulted the resident, stole items and fled.

Hurry is charged with assault, burglary and other offenses. He is being held without bond.
