Man Who Stole Money Meant For Victims Sentenced

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- A former worker in the Frederick County State's Attorney's Office who admitted to stealing more than $20,000 intended for crime victims has been sentenced to six months in jail.

Leroy Ambush III, 32, of Frederick was also ordered to pay restitution and perform 300 hours of community service at sentencing Wednesday in Frederick County Circuit Court.

Ambush pleaded guilty last month to felony theft. The State Prosecutor's Office says he stole restitution payments intended for crime victims 56 times between February 2010 and March 2013. Officials say he worked as a victim and witness coordinator.
