Prince George's Police Investigating Attempted Abduction Of Boy

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP) -- Police in Prince George's County say a man attempted to abduct a 12-year-old boy in Capitol Heights after offering him candy.

The boy told police the man approached him around 5:15 p.m. in the 6500-block of Wilburn Drive. Police say the man asked the child if he wanted any candy and told him he had some in his van.

When the child tried to walk away the suspect grabbed him by the jacket. The boy ran to Central High School where he called police.

Officials say the suspect was driving a black minivan and wearing a black leather jacket, jeans and black boots.
