Latif Rivers Leads Wagner Past Coppin State 102-87

BALTIMORE (AP) -- Latif Rivers scored 20 points on 7-of-9 shooting, including 3 of 4 3-point shots, to lead Wagner to a 102-87 win over Coppin State on Monday night.

Less than a minute after Sterling Smith's four-point play with 11:47 remaining cut the Wagner lead to 63-54, Kenneth Ortiz found Marcus Burton for back-to-back 3-pointers to extend the Seahawks lead to 69-54.  Coppin State (1-2) never again got closer than down 10.

Rivers' jumper with 15:41 left in the first half opened up a 15-7 lead for Wagner (2-2), but Coppin State ripped off a 10-0 run to take its first lead of the game on Dallas Gary's layup nearly two minutes later.  Taariq Cephas scored five of his 15 points in that stretch.

Marcus Burton hit 5 of 6 3-pointers and finished with 19 points for Wagner.  Ortiz finished with 12 points and 10 assists.
