Metro: Longer Waits For Weekend Trains On 3 Lines

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Metro says some travelers will wait longer than usual for trains this weekend because of track work.

Metro says beginning Friday at 10 p.m. and continuing through closing on Sunday, riders traveling on the red, orange and blue lines may experience delays. Metro says on the orange and blue lines trains will operate every 24 minutes. On the red line, trains will operate every 16 minutes, though from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. trains will arrive every eight to 10 minutes between Farragut North and Silver Spring.

Metro says there will be no work on the yellow or green lines.
