Police: Body Found Likely That Of Missing Woman

CUMBERLAND, Md. (AP) -- Cumberland police say a body found in Winchester, Va., is probably that of a woman who has been missing since September.

Police said on Monday that the probable remains of Lisa Ann Simmons, 43, were found in an industrial park. Officers said the body has been taken to the Virginia State Medical Examiner's Office.

Cumberland police say the remains were found with the help of Simmons' boyfriend, 44-year-old Stephen Schleuniger.

Schleuniger was charged with first-degree murder in Simmons' death in October.

Simmons' relatives reported her missing on Sept. 9. Police say officers found bloody footprints on the front porch of her home and a bloodstain on a rug and the floor in a front room.

Schleuniger, who has been held without bond, is due in court on Dec. 3.
