WEATHER BLOG: Messy Travel

The main low center is moving up into New England but there is a second center near the N.C. coast and a couple of waves of showers will come through during Wednesday afternoon.

Therefore I think there will be additional rain at times Wednesday afternoon. As the cold air continues to come in, some snowflakes can be seen later in the afternoon and evening before we dry out and clear up overnight.

The rain will be steadiest toward the coast so we will not rule out a coating of snow somewhere late Wednesday afternoon or evening (best chance north and west).

A bigger problem may be surfaces that do not dry off quickly will turn icy overnight as the temperature continues to drop.
