Former Md. Teacher Pleads Guilty In Sex Abuse Case

ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) -- A former Montgomery County fifth-grade teacher is avoiding jail time with a plea deal in a sexual abuse case.

WUSA-TV reports Timothy Krupica, 31, of Glen Dale, W.Va., pleaded guilty Monday in Rockville to four counts of second-degree assault for inappropriately touching two 11-year-old girls.

The judge suspended a 12-year prison sentence and placed Krupica on supervised probation. The plea deal also prevents him from teaching any students younger than 16.

Krupica was a teacher at Meadow Hall Elementary School in Rockville. He was placed on paid administrative leave after the charges.
