Glenn Younes: Ravens-Steelers Kickoff Gate

Pittsburgh Steelers v Baltimore Ravens

Jacoby Jones. Mike Tomlin. The sideline. Ravens. Steelers. Thanksgiving. NBC. National TV.

That's all the key info. You should know the rest.

Tomlin in the way. We know he did it. We know he was watching things on a 100 foot wide screen, 24 feet tall (Those are real dimensions from the teams official website). That's a big mother TV!

He knew what he was doing. He said he was watching. Intent, whatever. He's a coach, a head coach, of a legacy franchise, held to a level higher than a player. Mike Tomlin may not have been premeditated in comparison to spy gate or even bounty gate. The Steelers head coach may have just done a pretty stupid, hysterical move on the fly.

So with that said I think 100k for this first time offender. It's known that this is unacceptable and it's over. If that's too lenient, fine the team another 250k. What's taking so long? I think the league wants to lay the hammer but the old school respect has Pittsburgh fighting for itself a bit. Maybe getting more latitude to negotiate than others would.

Long and short, it's bad but not end of world. Let's get this over with. It's not that major. Pay the piper and play games. This doesn't need to be a competitive balance argument, entire bigger thing, draft pick or more. Just one loud mouths thoughts.
