Asphalt Plant Fire Extinguished In Laurel

LAUREL, Md. (AP) — A fire at an asphalt plant in Prince George’s County has been extinguished.

Dozens of firefighters and hazardous materials specialists responded to the blaze Thursday night at the Laurel Asphalt Plant on Van Dusen Road in Laurel. It was put out after midnight Friday.

Fire officials say the fire involved vehicles used to produce and transport asphalt products, and a building that contained a conveyor belt was also on fire.

No one was injured, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
