Window Blind Maker Adding 250 Jobs In Western Md.

CUMBERLAND, Md. (AP) -- Hunter Douglas says it's adding 250 jobs at its window blind factory in Cumberland.

The Cumberland Times-News reported in its Friday edition that the company expects to hire the new workers by July.

A spokeswoman says the plant currently employs about 800 people.

She says the new hires will make it Allegany County's second-largest employer after the Western Maryland Health System.

Hunter Douglas N.V. is a publicly traded company based in Rotterdam in the Netherlands. It has U.S. headquarters in Pearl River, N.Y.
