WEATHER BLOG: Nice Now, Messy Later

Clouds from Friday's daylong shower event have pushed off to the east. Clouds are now breaking for a good amount of sun for this early Saturday.

Temperatures will rise into the low to mid 40s before the clouds start to increase later Saturday afternoon. High pressure building in from the Midwest will bring colder temps in (Saturday night drops into the mid 20s)... which will set the stage for the wintry event that ends the weekend.

Dry air coming in Saturday will result in snow breaking out early Sunday. The mid levels warm later Sunday but surface temperatures will be slow to rise. So that leads to a snow to ice to plain rain scenario for the city on east. But the farther north and west you go, the ice to rain change will be delayed and some areas could even be icy still to start Monday morning and impact travel to work.
