Cal Ripken is Baltimore’s own Iron Man and a former Oriole. Cal is a hall-of-famer and one of the greats in MLB history.
Cal joined Ed & Steve to talk about the Orioles off-season and all the talk of him managing in the MLB.
Steve asked Cal who would he choose just on talent alone between Jim Johnson and Grant Balfour. Cal said he likes Johnson’s stuff better and he would choose Johnson but when salary and other elements come into the discussion you can’t blame the Orioles for the choice they made.
Cal also gave his opinions on Brian Roberts to the Yankees. Saying that he thought it would be good for Brian and that Brian will have a good year if he can stay healthy.
Cal then talked about the Orioles pitching staff and how the Orioles need to get that one big arm they can rely on in the playoffs to get them a win if they are ever gonna truly be a competitor.
