3 Firefighters Hurt In Md. Car Fire Explosion

BALTIMORE (AP) -- A fire official says three Baltimore firefighters were injured in a small explosion sparked by a car fire.

Fire department spokesman Ian Brennan says firefighters responded to a car fire at North Calvert and East Pleasant Streets on Wednesday night when something in the car exploded.

Brennan says three firefighters were hurt and taken to local hospitals, but their injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Other firefighters remaining at the scene extinguished the car fire.
