Police Investigate Upper Marlboro Shooting

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP) -- Prince George's County police say a man found shot on the steps of an Upper Marlboro home has died.

The body of 19-year-old Rashad Andre Pinkney, of Capitol Heights, was found Saturday morning, as police were trying to control the scene of a nearby party.

A police spokesman says police aren't sure yet about the connection between the party and the shooting.

Police responded to the 11800 block of North Marlton Avenue in Upper Marlboro for the sound of gunshots. Police say a home on that block had hosted a large party.

The shooting victim was reported about an hour later.

Separately, police say an officer trying to control the party twisted his ankle and broke his leg during a scuffle with a teenager he was trying to arrest.
