Man Arrested In Fatal Shooting In District Heights
DISTRICT HEIGHTS, Md. (AP) -- Prince George's County Police have arrested a man they say shot and killed another man in District Heights.
Officers were called to District Heights Parkway about 9:35 p.m. Saturday. Police found Lyndell Sowells, 32, of District Heights suffering from a gunshot wound.
Authorities say Sowells was able to give police a description of the man who shot him before he died at a local hospital.
Police say an officer saw a man matching the description running behind some homes and arrested him.
Omar Anthony Smith, 22, of District Heights has been charged with first-degree murder. Police say the killing was drug-related.
