6 Chickens Taken From Farm Returned Safely

SYKESVILLE, Md. (AP) -- The chickens have come home to roost.

Karen Jacob says the six chickens taken from her home Sunday have been returned in healthy condition.

She had arrived at her farm near Sykesville on Sunday to find a sticky note that read "Sorry I couldn't find you. Took six chickens, left $40." The note was signed, "Frank."

Jacob and her husband occasionally sell eggs from their flock of 20 chickens, but they do not sell the chickens themselves. Jacob said the chickens belong to her two young sons.

Jacob tells the Carroll County Times that "Frank" returned all six birds on Tuesday.

Jacob says there was a misunderstanding from a person in the surrounding neighborhood who was selling chickens.

Jacob says "Frank" was mortified over his mistake.
