ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) — Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Jim Caldwell has reportedly interviewed for Detroit’s coaching vacancy.

In a story posted on the Lions website, Caldwell says Detroit is an unusual opportunity because a talented quarterback and terrific receiver are already in place. Matthew Stafford and Calvin Johnson have raised expectations for the Lions, who fired coach Jim Schwartz after going 7-9 this season.

Caldwell went 26-22 in three seasons as the coach in Indianapolis, where he worked with Peyton Manning. The Colts reached the Super Bowl in Caldwell’s first season as coach but lost to New Orleans in February 2010.

Schwartz was fired after Detroit dropped six of its last seven games, blowing a chance to win the NFC North.
