Towson Holds Off Coppin State 81-79

BALTIMORE (AP) -- Four McGlynn made the game-winning free throws with 5 seconds remaining as Towson held off Coppin State 81-79 on Saturday.

Coppin State's Taariq Cephas made a layup to cut its deficit to two-points with 7 seconds left, but McGlynn came up big on the other end.

McGlynn finished with 16 points for Towson (9-6) and Jerrelle Benimon added 20 points, 12 rebounds. Towson got 18 points from Marcus Damas on 7-of-16 shooting.

Benimon made two clutch free throws with 12 seconds left to give Towson a 79-75 lead. Benimon was 10 of 12 from the line and McGlynn made all six of his.

Coppin State (4-10) kept it close by forcing 16 turnovers.

Michael Murray led the Eagles with 21 points and Andre Armstrong added 17, including 4 of 11 shots from behind the arc. Both teams made 10 3-pointers.

Towson led 55-44 with just under 12 minutes remaining.
