DURHAM, N.H. (AP) — Frank Okeke scored 12 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead New Hampshire over Maryland-Baltimore County 56-42 on Wednesday night as the Wildcats broke a 13-game losing streak.

Okeke hit 3 of 4 3-point attempts for a nine-point first half when the Wildcats (3-13, 1-2 America East) took a 26-14 halftime lead. The Retrievers (5-12, 1-3) never got the margin under double digits in the second half with the Wildcats holding a 22-point lead with 4:12 remaining.

It was Okeke’s first career double-double with the sophomore averaging 7.8 points and 2.2 rebounds per game coming in. Daniel Dion added 13 points for the Wildcats with 10 each from Jaleen Smith and Jordon Bronner.

UMBC was led by Rodney Elliott and Bryan Harris with 10 points apiece. The Retrievers shot just 27.5 percent and made only 4 of 13 3-point attempts.
