Mount St. Mary's Beats St. Francis 83-77

LORETTO, Pa. (AP) -- Sam Prescott had a season-high 25 points with a big 3-pointer in the final minute to lift Mount St. Mary's over St. Francis (Pa.) 83-77 on Thursday night.

The Mount (7-11, 3-2 Northeast Conference) was leading 74-71 when Prescott nailed a 3 as the shot clock expired to extend the Mountaineers lead to six with 40 seconds left.

The Red Flash cut the deficit to four on three separate occasions, but the Mount answered each time by making both of its free throws.

Gregory Graves had career-high 17 points for the Mount which was 8 of 18 from 3-point range. Byron Ashe added 12 points and Taylor Danaher chipped in 11.

Earl Brown had 30 points to lead the Red Flash which shot 54.1 percent from the field, but just 3 of 14 from 3-point range. Greg Brown added 10 points for St. Francis (3-15, 1-4).
