NC Central Rolls Past Coppin St. 87-63
DURHAM, N.C. (AP) -- Jeremy Ingram scored 24 points as North Carolina Central controlled a decisive 87-63 victory over Coppin State Saturday afternoon.
Ingram amassed 18 of his points in the first half to put North Carolina Central up 50-37 at the break. The score was 20-18 midway through the first half, but the NC Central Eagles went on a 30-19 run to pull away. Emanuel Chapman added 14 points, seven assists and six rebounds.
North Carolina Central (13-5, 4-1 Mid-Eastern Athletic) shot 32 of 62 from the field and 9 of 16 (56.3 percent) from 3-point range.
Taariq Cephas and Michael Murray scored 16 points each to lead the Coppin State Eagles, and Andre Armstrong added 12. Coppin State (6-13, 3-3) made the first basket of the game and then trailed the rest of the way, finishing at 33.3 percent shooting on both field goals (20 of 60) and 3-pointers (8 of 24).
