New Orioles pitching coach Dave Wallace joined the Scott Garceau Show with Jeremy Conn to give a preview of the young pitchers and how he could impact the Orioles staff. When asked about the amount of foreign talent on the field, Dave said the language barrier isn’t a huge issue. “The Korean and Taiwanese players and those guys have some translators, but some of them are a little accustomed to our culture. The experience I had in LA with the Nomo’ and the Chan Ho Park’ of the world has really come into play pretty good. So the language barrier is a little bit easier to cross when you have knowledge of their culture.”
Coach Wallace went on to elaborate on how the young pitchers could grow and how he could help them the most. “I think a lot of it has to do with confidence and the belief in what you have.”
