WEATHER BLOG: Snow, Then Warming Up

The second half of February brings more snow our way. In most winters, even in mild and relatively snowless patterns... most folks are getting sick of winter by now with a serious case of the winter blues and spring fever.

Our next chance for snow will move in overnight and into Tuesday morning. A quick moving low pressure system will track eastward over the next 24 hours. This system will arrive between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m. from west to east. It will end between 7 a.m. - 10 a.m. Tuesday. The worst of the storm will pass through between 3 a.m. - 7 a.m. A couple heavy bands of snow can be expected during this time period but they won't last very long. Accumulations will generally range between 1-3" in central Maryland with 3"+ north and west of the city. A brief period of freezing drizzle or sleet may mix in during the morning commute.
