William & Mary To Face Towson After 70-59 Win Over College Of Charleston

BALTIMORE (AP) -- Marcus Thornton and Brandon Britt scored 16 points apiece as third-seeded William & Mary roared back in the second half to defeat sixth-seeded College of Charleston 70-59 in a Colonial Athletic Association tournament quarterfinal Saturday night.

The victory sends the Tribe (19-11) into a Sunday semifinal against second-seeded Towson.

The Tribe trailed by 12 points at halftime but outscored the Cougars (14-18) in the second half 42-19 behind 56 percent shooting after a first half in which they made just 36.4 percent of their shots. The Tribe caught the Cougars with 8:15 left and were ahead by two with 3:43 left before finishing the game on a 9-0 run.

Willis Hall scored 15 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to lead the Cougars. Anthony Thomas added 14 points and Anthony Stitt 11. The Cougars shot just 25.8 percent in the second half after shooting 48.4 percent in the first half.
