Ravens LT Eugene Monroe Talks Re-Signing

Baltimore Ravens Left Tackle Eugene Monroe officially resigned with the Baltimore Ravens Wednesday. Monroe joined The Scott Garceau Show with Jeremy Conn to discuss his feelings on staying with the Ravens for another 5 years. Scott opened up the interview asking Eugene if the anxiety of free agency was any different than a younger player entering the draft.

"It was different because now its not completely unknown. I knew through the whole process we were working on a deal with the Ravens with the potential to land somewhere else. When you're getting drafted you have no idea other than the speculation of what teams are interested. It can change based on who they select, so you have a little more sanity."

Scott also brought up that General Manager Ozzie Newsome was pretty optimistic that the left tackle would stay with the team. Eugene felt the same way:

"Even when I first got here his message to me was they would make it work out long term. So I was patient and it happened just the way it did."

And finally Jeremy wanted to get the perspective of a player hitting free agency for the first time and what it was like being courted by multiple teams.

"For me I can't really say I experienced free agency. As it got up to the end we heard from a few teams. We were still working out a deal with the Ravens. And that was good to get the deal done here. I'm happy it worked out."
