Jeremy Conn: Crazy Day In Basketball...
What a crazy day in college basketball. We had two 12 seeds beat 5 seeds during the day and 3 overtime games at night. Louisville was on the brink of elimination and then Luke Hancock scored 8 straight points for them to get the win over Manhattan. We had a crazy game where Texas hits a buzzer beater over Arizona State, after Arizona State had battled back to tie the game in the second half. The day started off great with a back and forth game between Dayton and Ohio State. In the end Big Brother fell to Little Brother in the instate rivalry.
We did have a few blowouts as expected. Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Michigan State, Wisconsin and Villanova all had blowout wins. The craziest game of the day was NC State falling to St Louis in overtime. The Wolfpack had a 16 point lead with 5 minutes left and St Louis decided to start fouling to put NC State on the line. The Wolfpack missed a ton of free throws and the Billikens were able to send it to overtime and get the win. Hopefully we get to see a lot more games like we saw day 1.
