FREDERICK, Md. (AP) — Frederick police say a $7,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of those responsible for the slaying of a local man.

Police say the family and friends of Lamont Ellis, 36, of Frederick have put up the reward.

Ellis was found in a downtown alley on Sept. 30, 2012 suffering from gunshot wounds. He died at a local hospital, and police believe the shooting occurred during a robbery attempt.

Anyone with information about the killing should call the department’s tipline at 301-600-TIPS.
