Officer Hit By Fleeing Car, Injuries Minor

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP) -- Police in Prince George's County say an officer has sustained minor injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Clinton.

County police spokesman Lt. Bill Alexander says it happened Saturday when police were called to a burglary and domestic dispute in the 8600-block of Temple Hills Road.

Alexander says when officers arrived they saw two men running from a home and getting into a vehicle.

Officers tried to stop the men, but they sped away and struck an officer as they fled.

Officers shot at the car and the two men later arrived at hospitals with gunshot wounds. Both are expected to survive.

Police did not identify the two men.
